Courtesy of @Tikkin I have discovered that those vibrating rubber band weight-loss machines I mentioned yesterday don’t have a single recognised name. However, I have learned that they date all the way back to the Fifties and you can buy your very own Vintage Vita Master Action Belt Massager Model 30 on eBay if you’re quick. Waaay cheaper than a Power Plate.

I remain unconvinced by the Power Plate. It rattles my brain and brings back memories of those terrible machines in the 80s where you would wrap a giant rubber band around yourself and the machine would jiggle you. It doesn’t feel like my muscles are working any harder, though I like the idea of improving bone density without having to do high-impact exercises.

The massage option is nice, but seriously? A vibrator from Ann Summers [NSFW] would be cheaper, easier to target specific muscles and take up far less space.
